One thing that normally confuses men and women is that almost all serial motorists will reset the options towards the defaults after the machine is shut (i.e. no procedure has the unit open any longer). So the above mentioned stty command will established the configurations, then when It truly is done the driver resets them yet again.Stéphane Chaz
